Inclusive Heritage Event
Our customer Kunstlinie Almere is responsible for organizing National Heritage Day around Almere. Together with us, an event has been organized in which young people could be connected with disabled people by discussing possible alterations to an already existing building of high architectural value with the aim to make it more accessible.
After making plans for how to make the building more accessible, the modifications were made to the building already built by our team.
Raising Awareness to Make Buildings Accesible
Many buildings have poor access for disabled people, even new and modern ones. To make people aware of what it takes to make buildings accessible and why it matters, Cubefields organized the inclusivity building competition together with Kunstlinie Almere.
A visitors center was copied into Minecraft on a 1 to 1 scale by the Cubefields team. Participants had to alter the building making it more accessible, added features included elevators, ramps, braille, sounds and much more. The best three designers won a money prize and presented their ideas to the city council. In order to reach the best results, a community for disabled people, the architect of the building, the city council and an architectural designer have been involved as well as several experts from our team.
